Role at SkyDrive:
He leads the power distribution team, ensuring the electrical system’s efficiency and performance. His team designs high and low-voltage electrical architectures and their components to supply adequate electrical power to aircraft equipment such as electric motors, flight control computers, and multifunctional displays. They also create test procedures conducted in the aircraft or integrated labs to confirm that their electrical system design meets the intended requirements. His goal is to keep the aircraft competitive and production-ready, always striving for compliance with aerospace standards

Impressions of SkyDrive:
Before joining SkyDrive, he expected the typical challenges of a mid-scale company attempting to become a full-fledged aerospace company. Although the challenges are still there, he was pleasantly surprised by the maturity of the company’s processes and tools allied to how fast the company increases its quality to achieve the goal of first aircraft certification. The quality of the production environment, with its clean and professional assembly, impressed him. SkyDrive’s partnership with Suzuki and the progress made toward demonstration flights of its aircraft at Osaka Expo 2025 and its later certification showcases the company’s determination to catch up and potentially overcome other eVTOL players that are currently claimed at leading positions by market surveys.

Experience in Japan:
Working in the Japanese aerospace industry has been a highlight for him. He appreciates the positive exchanges and high-quality discussions with his colleagues. The team’s commitment to delivering the best is evident, and he feels a strong sense of passion and drive within the company.

Goals and Future Plans:
His passion for electric aircraft fuels his dedication to seeing SkyDrive succeed. He aims to contribute to the company’s growth and the realization of sustainable air travel. The team is focused on meeting aerospace standards and is eager to learn from other industries, such as automotive while understanding the applicability of these technologies to aerospace’s electrical architectures and components due to the increased safety levels. He is also looking forward to further SkyDrive’s collaboration with relevant aerospace power distribution suppliers interested in demonstrating their technology within what he believes will be successful platforms in the eVTOL market.

Personal Life:
He enjoys spending time with his wife and children outside of work, exploring Japan’s beautiful beaches, and visiting family-friendly locations. He finds Japan a welcoming country for families, with its customer-oriented culture and respect for individuals. The expression “Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu” meaning “You can count on me and I hope I can count on you” encapsulates the trust and mutual support he experiences in his daily life with the Japanese society.

Message to Future Employees:
Joining SkyDrive offers a unique opportunity to invigorate the Japanese aerospace sector and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future. Your voice and ideas will be valued, and you’ll be part of a motivating environment where your daily contributions make a meaningful impact.
