Privacy Policy

SkyDrive inc. (hereinafter referred to as “SkyDrive”) has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) regarding the acquisition of personal information of those who wish to contact SkyDrive and the protection of personal information in the services provided by SkyDrive (hereinafter referred to as “Services”). In the event that we have created a separate policy other than this Policy, that policy will be applied.

The terms used in this Policy shall be complied with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Law”).

1. Purpose of Use of personal information

SkyDrive will acquire and use personal information within the scope of the following purposes of use (hereinafter referred to as the “Purposes of Use”).

  1. Acceptance of application for this Service
  2. Identification and contact of the person using this Service
  3. Provision of this Service
  4. Maintenance and management of this Service
  5. Response to inquiries and consultations
  6. Performance of work entrusted by the consignor
  7. Planning, research and development of the services of SkyDrive
  8. Advertising, publicity, and sales promotion activities for the services of SkyDrive or SkyDrive’s business partners, etc.
  9. Recruitment Activities of SkyDrive
  10. Operations related to each of the above items at SkyDrive and SkyDrive’s group companies (SkyDrive, SkyDrive’s parent company or a company to which SkyDrive is an affiliate, and subsidiaries or affiliates of these companies. There are no group companies of SkyDrive at this time.)

Except where permitted by the Personal Information Protection Law or other relevant laws and regulations, SkyDrive will obtain the prior consent of the individual to use their personal information for purposes other than those described herein.

2. Provision of personal information to third parties

Unless otherwise permitted by law, SkyDrive will not disclose personal information in our possession to any third party (including parties located outside of Japan) without obtaining the prior consent of the person concerned.

3. Outsourcing the handling of personal information

SkyDrive may outsource the handling of personal information to the extent necessary for achieving the purpose of its use. When outsourcing operations related to the handling of personal information, we will evaluate and select the outsourcing company based on criteria determined separately by SkyDrive in advance, and will supervise the outsourcing company appropriately.

4. Sharing of personal information

SkyDrive will share personal information as follows

  1. Items of personal information to be shared
    Name, address, occupation, title, gender, age, date of birth, and any other information provided by the customer to SkyDrive in connection with the provision of this Service
  2. Shared use of personal information
    The Purpose of Use described in this document.
  3. Scope of users to share personal information
    SkyDrive’s Group Companies

5. Security Management Measures for Personal Information

In order to prevent leaks, loss, or damage of personal information managed by SkyDrive, SkyDrive will take necessary and appropriate measures, such as establishing internal rules and systems for the protection of personal information and properly operating these rules and systems.

6. Rights of the Customers

(1) Requests for notification of Purpose of Use and disclosure of personal information

Customers may request the notification of the Purpose of Use or disclosure of their personal information in accordance with procedures separately established by SkyDrive, except in the following cases,

  1. When there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the customer or a third party
  2. When there is a risk of considerable obstruction to the appropriate operation of SkyDrive’s business
  3. When disclosure would constitute a violation of another law or regulation
  4. When we cannot confirm the identity of the requesting party

Please note that when requesting notification of the Purpose of Use or disclosure of personal information, a disclosure fee may be charged in accordance with procedures separately established by SkyDrive.

(2) Requests for correction, addition, or deletion

Customers may request the correction, addition, or deletion of their personal information in accordance with procedures separately established by SkyDrive. In such cases, SkyDrive will investigate without delay to the extent necessary to achieve the Purpose of Use, and correct, add, or delete the relevant personal information based on the results of such investigation.

(3) Request for suspension of use and suspension of provision to third parties

Customers may request to stop using their personal information and stop providing it to third parties in accordance with procedures separately established by SkyDrive. In such cases, SkyDrive will respond appropriately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law.

7. Handling of information that does not identify a specific individual

SkyDrive may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about customers on the websites we manage ① to improve customer convenience, ② for security purposes, ③ to measure advertising effectiveness and deliver advertisements suitable for customers, ④ to improve our services.

In addition, in order to deliver advertisements that are suitable for customers, SkyDrive may provide information about customers to third parties, such as ad-serving companies, in a manner that does not allow identification of specific individuals.
