Happy New Year!
As we kick off 2026, I want to give a huge shout-out to all of you who are helping us make the “Air Mobility Revolution” happen. Seriously, your dedication to this big dream is what keeps us flying!
2025 was a massive year for SkyDrive—it’s when the eVTOL went from “someday” to “very near future.”
In 2025, SkyDrive’s primary focus was to prove the ‘reality’ of flying cars. Our month-and-a-half-long demonstration flights at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai and Osaka Port clearly showed our technical reliability. On top of these public demos, including our own internal testing, we safely conducted hundreds of flights this year. These operations provided us with invaluable data and insights that are critical for our certification process. We were also thrilled to welcome over 1.43 million visitors to the Expo’s “Advanced Air Mobility Station”, giving them a precious opportunity to see our aircraft firsthand and directly experience the future of air mobility. Furthermore, at Japan Mobility Show 2025, we brought “Railways x Air” to life. By creating an experience where passengers could board a flying car just by tapping a station ticket gate, we showed how air mobility will naturally fit into everyday life. This was a major milestone toward social implementation—an experience that transformed public expectation into shared conviction.
Building a safe and trustworthy service foundation for eVTOLs requires more than SkyDrive’s efforts alone. In 2025, we significantly strengthened our collaborations with government agencies to advance Type Certification, and deepened partnerships across operations and infrastructure. This external support is indispensable. Furthermore, our global network expanded and matured this year, with dedicated teams successfully customizing solutions for the unique needs of the U.S., Southeast Asia, and the UAE markets.
In the fall of 2025, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government officially launched “Phase 1 of the eVTOLs project,” marking a major milestone toward our goal of full-scale social implementation in Japan in 2028. This momentum is building globally as well—with the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics leading the way, many regions in the world are accelerating their efforts to make air mobility a reality. We are now truly on the verge of seeing eVTOLs become a part of our daily lives.
Looking at everything happening both here and abroad, we’ve decided that 2026 is the most critical prep year for the “realization” that’s right around the corner. Our number one focus is final preparations for Type Certification. At the same time, we’re hitting the gas on setting up safe operational systems and getting our infrastructure integrated, tapping into the deep expertise of our partners both in Japan and overseas.
The future in which eVTOLs represent a conventional mode of transportation, delivering new value to local communities, is rapidly approaching.
Wishing you all an amazing and prosperous 2026! Together with our partners, we at SkyDrive will keep pushing the boundaries to turn our shared dreams into reality. We are fully committed to creating a future where traveling through the sky is fun and comfortable for everyone. We truly appreciate your continued support and encouragement as we take on the challenges of the year ahead.
Best wishes,
