■ Tokyo Future Tour 2035
As SkyDrive is working in partnership with various major Japanese railway companies to create flexible urban transportation networks that combine train journeys with eVTOL flights, we have decided to participate in the Tokyo Future Tour 2035 to illustrate our future vision of easy and convenient urban air transport. This exhibit will feature a boardable mockup of the SkyDrive aircraft accessible via a touch-and-go automatic ticket gate, a key symbol of smooth and seamless travel, helping familiarize the public with the role Tokyo’s skies will soon play as an integral part of future Tokyo travel experiences.

Visitors to the exhibit will also be able to learn from the accompanying display panels about the detailed flight route plans being developed by SkyDrive and our rail industry partners.

  • Venue: Tokyo Big Sight, West 2 Hall, First Floor, West Hall, Tokyo Future Tour 2035, Land/Sky/Sea Area
  • Dates: October 30, 2025 – November 8, 2025

■ Collaboration between SkyDrive and various railway companies
SkyDrive has signed business partnership agreements with four of Japan’s major railway companies with a view to providing convenient travel routes that combine rail journeys with advanced urban air mobility.
These integrated transport networks will contribute greatly to regional development. Together with our partners, we are focused on providing enjoyable, easy-to-use eVTOL infrastructure that will help the public quickly adopt and accept this new technology (*4).

  • Kintetsu Group Holdings Co., Ltd. — Planned routes in the Ise Shima Area
  • Osaka Metro Co., Ltd. — Osaka Diamond Routes linking four locations in central Osaka
  • East Japan Railway Company (JR East) — Routes linking Morioka with AZUMA FARM KOIWAI
  • JR Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) — Routes within Oita (including flights between Beppu and Yufuin)

■ SkyDrive’s Business Partnership with Suzuki Motor Company
In March 2022, SkyDrive entered into a commercial and technological partnership with Suzuki. This agreement allows SkyDrive to leverage Suzuki’s manufacturing expertise to achieve the consistent production of safe, high-quality eVTOL aircraft for delivery to markets around the world. In June 2023, SkyDrive founded the subsidiary SkyWorks to take responsibility for aircraft manufacturing, with production starting in March 2024 at a Suzuki Group plant in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture. As the two companies strengthen their relationship in preparation for further business development inside Japan and overseas, the current cooperation between SkyDrive and Suzuki also includes financial investment from Suzuki in SkyDrive, support from Suzuki for SkyDrive’s business development in India, and the appointment of Naoki Ishii, Representative Director and Executive Vice President of Suzuki, as an independent SkyDrive director (※5).

■ Automobile industry synergies
SkyDrive’s eVTOL incorporates the latest in advanced Japanese technology, which is recognized around the world for its quality. SkyDrive is harnessing the skills and knowledge of Japanese companies including Suzuki, and also NHK SPRING Co., Ltd., a respected producer and developer of automobile industry components, to provide a future stable supply of high-quality aircraft.

Editor’s Note:
※1 “eVTOL” is an abbreviation for electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing. As the name suggests, eVTOL aircraft can take off and land without a runway. eVTOLs are powered by electricity and incorporate advanced, automatic, flight control technology.
